The World Trade Center in all its glory.
The World Trade Center.
To commemorate the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks this video, showing the nine-year construction of the 1,776-foot One World Trade Center from the ruins of Ground Zero, was released.

The video was produced by EarthCam using hundreds of thousands of hi-def cameras positioned overlooking the construction site in Lower Manhattan.

Myth busting popular 'castle island' in Ireland as a fake

The beautiful and fake "castle island"
The beautiful and fake "castle island"

This a photo that has been doing the rounds on the more visual social media spots such as Pinterest, Imgur and Reddit. The varying captions claim it is a “castle island” and many say it is in Dublin.

As an office of native Irish people our first reactions was “Wow!” and then, wait, this can’t possibly be real.

However, all you have to do is carry out a cursor Google Image search to see that many are taken in by this Photoshop trickery. This image is actually Khao Phing Kan island, also known as “James Bond Island”, in Thailand, with a portion of the Lichtenstein Castle, near Honau in the Swabian Alb, Baden-Württember, Germany, plonked on top.

There you have it! Don’t believe everything that you see!

A top Irish chef was under fire this week after he posted a fake photo of himself holding the "severed" head of a well known food critic, who gave his restaurant a negative review.

Oliver Dunne, who runs Cleaver East in Dublin, posted the photo on Twitter where he appears to be grabbing Lucinda O'Sullivan's decapitated head.

"Lol, look what I got in the post," he wrote as the caption, after O’Sullivan wrote what he believed was her "completely inaccurate and unacceptable" Sunday Independent piece.

The Michelin award winning chef Photoshopped the food critics head onto a promo picture of what was originally a pig's head.

O'Sullivan described the photo as a "sick and tasteless stunt".

Some Twitter also followers labeled it "offensive, tasteless and unnecessary."

"I have never met that guy Oliver Dunne, but I don't think there is any need to post that pic," wrote one.

Dunne later deleted the Photoshopped picture and apologized for any offense caused.

Mike Tyson discusses Sligo and Oliver Cromwell with Conan O'Brien (VIDEO)

Mike Tyson loves Sligo and hates Oliver Cromwell
Mike Tyson loves Sligo and hates Oliver Cromwell

Mike Tyson, one of the most successful and feared heavyweight boxers in the world, appeared on Conan O'Brien's late night show on Wednesday to discuss his new show and being 20 days sober.

The boxing champ spoke honestly about his sobriety and then as O'Brien tried to wrap up the interview Tyson interjected with some quite random tandems including how he'd visited "Sligo, Ireland" and how they "hate Oliver Cromwell there". O'Brien politely engaged and then quickly wrapped up the interview.

Tyson even quoted some Shakespeare! Speaking about his sobriety he said "I just wanted to be honest and I don’t care how much success you have or how much love you have, if you’re not honest, it’s never going to last.

"I have 20 days now [of being sober], and this is the guy I want to be.

"I was just very scared about all this stuff, it’s really creepy you know, being sober not ready to handle this stuff and all those yucky feelings start coming up and you want to kill that pain, I’m just so happy that I can be truthful with myself. That’s all you have to be, right? Be true to thyself. Shakespearean stuff."

Are they 'FIGTHING' words? Notre Dame Fighting Irish typo goes viral

It's a "Figthing" Irish thing!
It's a "Figthing" Irish thing!
Fifty-ounce cups sold at the Indiana University stadium, with room for over 80,000, were distributed with a major typo last Saturday. The cup celebrating the "Figthing Irish" Notre Dame players will replaced during the next home game on September 21.

Unfortunately the $8 Notre Dame cup has become a social media joke already.

Notre Dame spokesman Dennis Brown declined to say how the typo occurred or who is to blame.

"It's an institutional responsibility," he told ESPN.com

"We're not going to be blaming individuals."
