Irish band Two Door Cinema Club remix Lady Gaga’s ‘Electric Chapel’ - VIDEOS

Two Door Cinema Club
When Northern Irish rockers Two Door Cinema Club were approached by pop goddess Lady Gaga’s manager to do a remix of her tune ‘Electric Chapel,’ they knew it was an offer they couldn’t refuse.

Speaking to Stereoboard.com, lead of the band Alex Trimble said “I got a call from our manager, saying Lady Gaga's asked if you want to do a remix and you've got a week to do it in. For me that's not really a lot of time, especially as we were on tour, but I couldn't really turn down that chance.”

“It's such an incredible opportunity,” added Trimble. “So I just worked every single day and night and just threw it together and I'm really proud of it. It's such an honour to be asked by such a massive artist.”

The most disgusting Irish Bailey’s Cream cocktail - an Alien Brain Hemorrhage cocktail

Alien Brain Hemorrhage
If you thought an Irish Car Bomb was bad (3/4 pint Guinness stout, 1/2 shot Bailey's Irish cream, 1/2 shot Jameson Irish whiskey), you ain't seen nothing yet.

The image above is what is known as an Alien Brain Hemorrhage. It is so called either because it looks like an bloody alien’s brain or because it will make you feel like you’re living a scene from Ridley Scott’s “Alien” movie the morning after you’ve drunk a couple of these shots. The jury’s still out on that one.

To create this spectacular concoction you’ll need to put together half a shot glass full of peach schnapps with Bailey’s Irish Cream poured on top. When the glass is almost full tip in a small amount of blue curacao. Wait for this to settle and add a splash of grenadine.

A brave soul who has actually tried this drink assures me that it does curdle and as you tip it back your gullet you can feel the lump of Bailey’s hit your throat.

Ideal for St. Patrick’s Day right? If you have a death wish.

Is the Irish accent too much to handle? BBC video goes viral - VIDEO

Ye what? Is the Irish accent hard to fathom?
Derry native Aileen Faller had Irish television host Graham Norton “in stitches” with laughter while she recounted her tale of a mistaken car on the late night talk show.

As a segment on the show, Norton has audience members sit in a red chair and tell some sort of an amusing anecdote. Should the anecdote not be humorous or entertaining to Norton and his audience, Norton pulls a lever which flips the chair over.

Well, Faller and her thick Derry accent - which had the likes of Kenneth Branagh, American actor Zach Braff and English popstar Taio Cruz both confused and laughing - kept the audience well entertained and saved her from a flip.

The video of Faller telling her story is now on YouTube and has racked up in excess of an impressive 35,000 views. Whether or not all those viewers can understand her thick Northern accent is another matter.

While Faller couldn’t see Graham and his guests while she was telling her story, she could hear the reaction from the audience.

“It was like Ireland had won the World Cup,” she said of hearing the fits of laughter. “The place was just going mad.”

“I’m just really, really pleased that people enjoyed it,” said Faller in the wake of her newly found online fame.

Below, catch Faller’s appearance on the Graham Norton show. Can you understand what she’s saying?:

Everything including clocks, paintings, and the bricks of the house has been created from shredded banknotes.

This piece of art is part of a series called “Expressions of Recession”.

The Irish Times reports that his €1.4 billion house is worth slightly more than the amount unsecured bondholders in the former Anglo Irish Bank will receive this week.

Buckley said “I’m sitting in my studio with my feet up on a box of €4 million of shredded notes and I thought, ‘God, this is just paper'…I just felt there needs to be a debate on this. Kids in school need to come down and see and get talking about it. What does currency mean?”

His project is housed inside the “Glass House” in Smithfield, Dublin City. Buckley began this project on 1st December 2011 and plans to complete the project in seven weeks.

Irish woman sells “virgin blonde human hair” online - VIDEO

Photo of the hair in question
An Irish woman has posted an ad on the classifieds site, Adverts.ie, in an attempt to sell her “virgin blonde human hair” for $762 (€600).

The poster writes “Willing to sell all 71cm of my virgin blonde hair. It has a circumference of 3.5 inches when tied in ponytail. I will shave my head so there will be short pieces at the front too. From crown to tip it's 71cm long. It has highlights in the sun and is very shiny.”

She goes on to describe she washes it “2/3 times a week”. She adds that she never straightens, perms, dyes or uses any chemicals or sprays on her hair.

“I do not smoke, drink or do any drugs.
Keep a very healthy lifestyle.
Mostly raw vegan diet.”

Although a little weird it doesn’t get really creepy until she says “I am willing to video the cut at buyers request and will cut and ship all 28 inches as soon as the payment has cleared.”

At the end she adds “Buyer is responsible for shipping and salon costs if required by buyer.”

The Daily Edge on Journal.ie picked up on this story on Wednesday and the sellers sent them through this video:

81-year-old Irish woman bungee swings for free in New Zealand – VIDEO

Learning to fly - back on solid ground
An 81-year-old Irish lady, Ailsa, took part in a bungee swing in New Zealand.

The video shows a relaxed lady who shouts “Yes I do want the video, cause they will not believe me at home”.

She goes on to say that she’s not scared now and waves “bye bye”.

When her landing on the platform doesn’t quite go to plan she can be heard threatening the technician saying she’ll send her husband after him.

Upon hitting down on solid ground, after being airborne for about four minutes, her companions ask if she feels okay. She says “I’m okay” and waves enthusiastically at the camera.

Broadsheet posted the video on Tuesday. They said the footage came from Lisa Sheppard who wrote:

“This is my 81-year-old-grand Aunt Maureen from Gibbstown in County Meath doing the Nevis bungee swing in New Zealand! She did it because they had a sign saying “free for anyone over 75″.

They had said at the Nevis swing they haven’t had anybody older than her doing it! She said it was very relaxing and would highly recommend it!”

Here's the footage:

UFO mystery - footage shot over Dublin alien or Chinese lantern – VIDEO

Spot the UFO?
A video uploaded to YouTube by  leonamiga claims to be footage of a UFO over Dublin. The video seems to be taken from a still camera, to a building. It shows a small bouncing light moving across Dublin’s skyline.

Broadsheet.ie posted the footage asking “UFO Over Dublin Or Chinese Lantern?”

It seems that many of the site’s readers are skeptics. One commenter, Jimbo, posted “Someone tell Jim Corr, only he can save us!!” Corr, from the hit band The Corrs has often made his beliefs on conspiracy cover-ups publicly known.

Dash Rickwood commented that the UFO “moves just like one of those mysterious Garda helicopters” and another questioned that the footage was actually of Dublin.

One commenter on the YouTube clip seemed to disagree with the non-believers. The user, junkification, wrote “Same thing over my house, same night. Portland, Oregon, New Years Eve 2012!! I reported the sighting to mufon(dot)com (sic)”.

What do you think?

Here’s the footage:
